Born in Spokane, Washington, Lauren Hemphill moved all over the west coast during her childhood. From Washington, to California, to Oregon, then Colorado with her family, she made finally stopped at Idaho with dreams of building a tiny house there. Now surrounded by a growing homestead with chickens, too many cats, and two dogs (not to mention the moose that lives somewhere on the forty acres), she presses on with her dreams of writing for a living, and works hard to make it a reality.
Primarily a fiction writer, Lauren has recently branched out into writing nonfiction due to a wonderful nonfiction teacher. Despite being irritated that he managed to convince her to enjoy writing about herself, she tends to find the process cathartic and enjoyable.
